Brake Master Cylinder

Appearantly the Brake Master Cylinder is gettign worn down, and anytime soon the brakes could randomly snap. I am keeping the 924 in the garage for now. I ordered a used good condition Brake Master Cylinder and am awaiting it's arrival. I will inspect it when it arrives, and if good enough will use it for my new cylinder.
If not, I will need to purchase a brand new one. I will find out sometiem this week what my mechanic will charge for labor cost on installiing the part. If he's askign too much, I'm going to have to see what I can do about doing this myself.

In the meantime I am waiting my newly order parts form http://www.performanceproducts.com/ including a Voltmeter, Infared Thermometer, and Drain Plug tools. I now know the proper way to drain and fill the transmission fluid, so I will do that upon recieving my products.

In the meantime I am going to have to get ahold of another vehicle. The 924 is officially going to need to stay in the garage this witner to be worked on. I may either get ahold of another Porsche, or see what else I can find around here.

Stupid Battery

A few days ago I take the car out around noon and let it sit for about an hour. I come back to find the battery pretty much completely dead! With nothing on, where was the charge depleting? Anywho, I went to Menards and picked up a rechargable portable booster. I let it charge a bit then took it to the car and hooked the cables up on the battery. I let it charge up not even 2 minutes and she fired up just fine. Haven't had any problems since. I'll be keeping this portable booster with my all the time from now on.

I recently ordered a Volmeter, Infared Thermometer, and 2 Drain Plug pieces. With a good money saving deal going on, I saved about $17.00

Hopefully once I get the drain plug removal sockets, I can finally get down to draining and filling the damn tranny.

Transmission Drain

So not too long back I got some Redline 750W to replace the old transmission fluid with. Yesterday I jacked the car up on one side to get underneath and locate the two drain plugs. I belive I spotted them but it will be too difficult to do anything if I don't get an extra set of jack stands for the other side. I will need to order a 17mm allen wrench to remove the plugs, as well, and a suction gun to get the fluid into the transmission. Once I get all this accomplished, I will update with how the process went in replacing the fluid and how the car thense performs on it's new drug.

Interior Complete

I finished the interior today. Resprayed the Center Console with a shinier black spray. Refitted it and that finished the final piece of the completed interior! I have a few mods yet to complete such as adding embroidered colored Porsche Crest emblem badges to the seats, and a metal colored Porsche Crest emblem in the center of the horn pad. The Dash Cap also needs some cement glue, but it's good enough for now. I may just get a new, less flimsy dash cap for a winter project. Until then.

Tomorrow I plan on doing some more engine inspection and jacking the car up to take a look underneath, and see exactly what I need to do to drain the transmission fluid.

Re-Fitting Center Console

Today I will finally re-fit the center console. I will spray over the old console with a darker black spray and see how it looks in the car compared to the carpeted console. If I would use the carpeted console, I would need to completely sand down and cover the carpet for a re-spray, as well as purchasing some carpet dye to fix that wethered carpet look. I am more than likely going to use the old console, as it will look a lot better once finished. I will still leave the carpeted console as a project and completely refurbish it to a brand new state look, then either keep it for if I wish to replace at a later time, or sell it. Pictures in next post.

Console and Bulbs

A few weeks back I removed the Center Console as the black paitn was chipping up pretty bad. I sanded it down good and resprayed it. It looks brand new now. However I ordered a different Center Cosnole from someone from the 924board.org website. It arrived and is in fantastic condition with carpet siding! However I cannot re-install the console until I order in some new light bulbs for the guages. I am also going to order a new light bulb for the glove box. For $1.99 why not?

CIS Arrived

The CIS Fuel Injector Tester finally arrived. I'll be putting it to good use within the next week.
