Picked Up a Snailshell !

With hardly any of these left in the world, I was able to find one for sale, not an hour and a half from my location. Looks very great!

Muffler Re-Welded

Got the Muffler Re-welded. Should hold until I get a hold of parts to keep her on there for a good long time.

New Muffler Parts needed

Looks like it's time for some underbody work. The Muffler recently snapped from a Support bracket on the way to work. Thankfully it snapped right when I got to work, and I noticed it after I had parked.

Later that night I went out in the icy weather and took two bungie cords I had tied around the Spare Tire in the Well, and wrapped them around the Muffler to get me home. Those things burnt up faster than I had expected! Haha.

Upon further inspection I came to notice that not only is the Support Bracket that snapped going to need replaced, but almost all of the Muffler Support Parts are in the same condition, and need I say more, should also be replaced. Looks as though the Muffler should be replaced as well.

Updates soon.

Mid American Motorplex and Fuel Pump Death

Last month was a National  924 Meet. Too many 924 owners were there to list them all off but it was a nice day. A horrible sauna inside the car on the track, but it was very exciting. Not to mention my instructor took me out in his car and he drove like a damn maniac drifting around all the corners and speeding through it all.

After several times on the track, the Fuel Pump decided to die out on me, leaving me stranded on the side of the track. I was pulled back and we diagnosed that the Fuel Pump was shot. I ended up having to get a ride home, and had to leave the car there for the night.

In the morning Tom Cooper and Stan Hoppe went on over and installed a Fuel Pump that Tom had lying around. It was taken back to Stan's place, and then back to Tom's where I went and picked it up.

New Rear Drivers Side Brake Cylinder

The old one was leaking pretty bad, draining quite a bit of brake fluid. Tom Cooper and Stan Hoppe came down and helped install a brand new one. We then bled the brakes, and she turned out great!

Carpet Respray

Used COLORBONDS Carpet Re finisher and the carpet looks close to new!

Need New Alternator Bushings

The Current Alternator Brackets are going to shit, and new ones are not manufactured, nor is it easy at all to find any used alternator brackets. The brackets will need to be replaced soon before the Alternator decides to fall off!

Muffler Fixed

The Muffler ended up falling half off and dragging on my way back from Tom cooper's place. Had to stop in Fremont and Tom came to help me out and get it back on temporarily to get back home. I took it down to my local mechanic a few days later and they welded it back on, as well as the tip.

New Clutch Installed

In July, with the help of Tom Cooper, Stan Hoppe, and Don Hook from the 924board, a brand new Clutch was successfully installed!

Muffler Rattle and Timing Belt Squeak

So recently there has been a rather annoying rattling sound when driving around. Mostly only after starting from 1st gear, giving power. Today I will get under there and take a look at it. May just need some adjusting.

On another note, the Timing Belt has been squeaking squealing AGAIN. This is EXTREMELY annoying. I have added a lot of belt dressing to it, but it has still squealed. However today it seems to be doing just fine. I will get down to business with this. May just need some tightening.

Seat Cover Patches Complete

Picked up my Seat Covers today and the Porsche Crest Patches look fantastic sewn on. Pictures soon!

New Clutch

Time for a new Clutch...

I ordered a new Clutch Kit with the Guide Tube for the Bearings. I also ordered a new Horn, and a Clutch Adjuster.

Now I must wait for these parts to arrive, so that I may take the car down to Springfield where Stan will let me use his lift. A few others including Tom Cooper, and Dan Hook from Omaha (and the 924.org forums) will help out!

Paint Touch Up

This took about 5 minutes. I touched this up myself.

Running Again- Large Update

Intake Hoses  have been replaced. The old ones were swelled up, causing air leaks.
Timing Belt needed to be reset, and a broken wire was traced down.
The Distributor was extremely loose and had to be tightened.

The oil also needed changed, as it was full of gas.

Thankfully she is now back up and running

Spark Plugs, Ignition Wires, Tuning

New Spark Plugs have been installed, new Ignition Wires, and next up, is some fine-tuning to the engine.

I have some re-mapping to do to the vacuum hoses. The EGR is not correct.
I am still recieving no fire-up, so I am looking past the plugs and wires for now and searching on some other related things. Hopefuly I will run accross the problem soon.
